Unless your physician recommends otherwise:

The examination should be performed with an empty stomach.

• do not eat or drink for at least 6 hours prior to the examination, it is admissible to drink still water in small amount avoiding excessive swallowing of air,
• do not chew gum or smoke cigarettes,
• patients taking medicines – take your medicines as prescribed by your doctor with still water but not later than 1 hour before the examination:
• in the afternoon/evening of the day before the examination, avoid foods and drinks that cause flatulence, carbonated beverages, yoghurt, etc. In addition to the above, patients susceptible to flatulence should use easily digestible diet at least two days before the examination.
• take Simetigast Forte, 1 capsule in the evening on the day preceding the examination and 1 capsule in the morning on the day of the examination or Espumisan 3 to 4 capsules 3 times a day (degassing agent – available OTC).

Bring the results of previous ultrasound examinations of the given area or the results of other examinations performed due to the same condition.

The examination is painless and there are no contraindications (even in pregnancy).

Bring the following to your ultrasound examination:

• results of previous diagnostic examinations (description + CD), laboratory tests, hospital discharge summaries, ID,
• minors should be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who must present the original copy of the document certifying their authority to care for the minor; a parent or legal guardian should also bring the minor’s medical record book.

Unless your doctor recommends otherwise patients taking medicines – take your medicines as prescribed by your doctor with still water but not later than 1 hour before the examination:

Bring the results of previous ultrasound examinations of the given area or the results of other examinations performed due to the same problem.

The examination is painless and there are no contraindications (even in pregnancy).

Bring the following to your ultrasound examination:

• results of previous diagnostic examinations (description + CD), laboratory tests, hospital discharge summaries,
• ID.
• minors should be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who must present the original copy of the document certifying their authority to care for the minor;
• a parent or legal guardian should also bring the minor’s medical record book.

The examination does not require any preparation.

Bring the results of previous ultrasound examinations or the results of thyroid scintigraphy (if possible) It is also advisable to bring the results of thyroid function tests and TSH tests (if any).

The examination is painless and there are no contraindications.
